BBC Radio Manchester presenter Richard Fair has been tasked with keeping an eye on the Manchester International Festival, and it looks as though he will be very busy.
He has already written on the BBC Manchester Blog about his early start, preparations for a theatrical world premier at the Palace and how he will be speaking to actor Alan Rickman later this evening on the radio.
The Manchester International Festival promises a range of events with new music, theatre performances and exhibitions taking place across the city.
But if you want to be a "proper" festival then you need an alternative and the Not Part of Manchester International Festival is promising just that.
It's likely to be a busy couple of weeks in the city.
