I WAS hoping to chat with Hugh MacLeod yesterday as he takes a tour around the UK promoting Stormhoek wine.
Unfortunately he was running late, and I was up to my neck in it by the afternoon, so maybe another time.
But it is interesting to see how Hugh is now using the strength of his blog to promote the wine out on the streets, generating a crossover between online and offline media.
One of the reasons he said he was running late was the fact that he was busy with interviews and I noticed he had issued a press release through PR Newswire, clearly regular news outlets are keen to cover the story.
Considering how many marketing/PR firms have messed up promoting products when trying to meld together the internet and the real world, Hugh has brought honesty and openness to the fore, with a dash of love, to create a recipe for success.
