IT has been a few weeks since Claire started writing a selection of articles for This Perth Life, and already her site has become a useful resource for people.
Looking over the stats it is clear that Google likes what Claire has been writing and is pointing visitors to a wide selection of articles.
A key element is that Claire has written about the surrounding area and mentioned locations when noting events coming up in the future, as people will wrap key phrases around destinations.
For example her article on festivals in western Australia features plenty of place names, dates and links which are useful for both search engines and readers.
I've also made a couple of little tweaks to the way that TypePad displays articles, for example, ensuring headlines on index pages link through to the article (see How to Link the Title of a Post to the Permalink URL in TypePad).
As well as added a 'email to a friend' facility and also given site visitors the opportunity to save individual pages to del.icio.us.
Next stop is to get a few more sites linking to it, but really there are no secret tricks as Claire has written good quality articles that people want to read.
