ONE of the best things about blogs is that search engines such as Technorati are able to draw together articles and comments from a vast array of sites quickly and easily.
I have been watching the progress of the National Downshifting Week campaign run by my friend Tracey Smith, who is keen to see more of us think about the impact we have on the environment.
In the past I have set up search feeds for keywords related to my own sites and the companies I write about, but seeing Tracey’s campaign spread so well across countless blogs has been very interesting.
I used the search facility within Bloglines and over the past few days have seen sites across the world hook in to Tracey’s work and some even decide to take a downshifting step each day and chart their progress.
Here are the results from a Technorati search on National Downshifting Week.
It shows that you don’t need buckets of money to create a campaign that connects with readers, just something that interests people and gets them involved.
The rest can be left to ‘word of blog’.
