IF you are using photographs on your website make sure they are presented in the best possible light.
Your photographs need to be produced in a common format with a resolution of 72dpi, which is suitable for displaying on computer screens.
Also when using portrait style photographs aim to use them at around 150pixels wide by 230pixels deep with landscape photos at 310pixels by 180pixels.
And if you are using three or four pictures on one page, image sizes should be reduced to around 200pixels x 150pixels.
It is better to have a few smaller pictures than one larger one where you are trying to cram in as much as you can.
Also make sure you check the file size of the image because it is possible to have a small photo yet it can come in at 80kb, when really you don't want anything above 30kb.
There are many websites that will allow you to check how quick your page will load, do a search on Google for 'website download times'.
Or clear the cache of Internet Explorer by going in to Tools, Internet Options and then click on delete files.
Wait for it to complete the task and then refresh the page and see how long it takes to load up.
